Improvements to Ramada Jasper

August 17th, 2013 by

A lot of work goes into making this property better. We are constantly working on improving the standards of our facility. The improvements to Ramada Jasper will continue throughout the next few months as we improve many aspects of the building to make your stay the best it can be.

As we make improvements to Ramada Jasper, our commitment to customer service will continue!

One of the ways we improved our amenities is by adding a fitness center.

improvements-to-ramada-jasper-fitness-facilityYou can see that the largest improvement was the huge mirror that runs continuously along the largest wall in the room.  Also you can see the shelves that will have towels for guests.  It also serves as a place for guest to set their belongings while they are using the facility. Another improvement is that we added a water cooler so there is no issue with staying hydrated while working out.

You may remember that this room used to have some pool tables. They have since found a new home!

Ping Pong is always a hit with families! Due to the Hoosier Humidity and a lot of use over the years, our ping pong tables were in need of an overhaul. So we gave them a little help!

You can enjoy all these amenities and more with our Fall Family Fun Package! Enjoy an hour of free ping pong, free pizza and so much more.

These are just a few of the improvements we are making to the facility. The restaurant and lounge are undergoing some changes as well and there are some improvements to the rooms that will be happening over the next few months as well. Stay tuned for more information and how the improvements to Ramada Jasper keep coming!

Big Plans Indeed

The Dubois County Free Press was kind enough to interview our new owner, Subhash Kataria. Below is an excerpt of the article.

Subhash Kataria, the new owner of the Jasper Inn and Convention Center, says the first thing that attracted him to the iconic property were its classic looks.

After six months of due diligence, Kataria says, with those classic looks and features like the dome and indoor pool, he sees the Jasper Inn as a property with a lot of potential.

Dubois County’s Olde World Christmas 2012

The Christmas Stroll in Huntingburg, IN

Enjoy a Victorian Era Christmas in Huntingburg’s Christmas Stroll

It’s the time of year when silver bells ring and people greet each other with good cheer. The time when families get together to share stories and memories. The garland gets hung on the fireplace and carolers sing their yuletide tunes.

Dubois County celebrates this in a special way too, one that hearkens a time that is almost forgotten. See more after the jump.
First in the lineup of events is Huntingburg’s Victorian Christmas Stroll. With its downtown full of specialty shops and antique stores, you are sure to find wonderful stocking stuffers and the perfect gift. Enjoy a holiday home tour, shopping, carriage rides, photos with Santa, carolers, and the ever-popular cookie walk. Currently in its 27th year, the Christmas Stroll heralds the official start of the holiday season in southern Indiana November 9 – 11. This event has no admission charge.

Ferdinand, IN Christkindlmarkt

Ferdinand’s Christkindlmarkt hearkens a Bavarian style Christmas.

Ferdinand is the next on the list with something a bit more Bavarian with their Christkindlmarkt (sounds like krist-kindle-marked). This Christmas market flourishes throughout the town with all sorts of crafts, artisans and entertainment all while enjoying Yuletide food and beverages that will delight your senses. The festival begins on the eve of the celebration with a Christmas Angel appearing from the Gothic doors of an old world monastery crypt as a live Nutcracker waves a banner standing guard, monks chant resounding chords, trumpeters herald in the season, and a bell choir of nuns perform angelic tunes. Join the abundance of people for this free celebration November 17th and 18th.

Let downtown Jasper’s stupendous Christmas tree welcome you to the Jasper O’Tannenbaum Days celebration. Visit every store to examine gifted artists and artisans demonstrate their skills of pottery, wood-carving, butter-churning and quilting. Relish distinctive shopping, visits with Santa, carolers, carriage rides, special performances, holiday home tours, and tours of historic sights as well as the glorious St. Joseph Church, an old world-style church in the Romanesque style listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Discover the charm November 30th through December 2nd

More Than Just Weddings

Business Meetings at the Jasper Inn

We have many spaces that will fit the needs of business meetings of all types.

Our convention center is ideal for weddings, but it can also be used for many other occasions. We have meeting roomsthat can be set up to seat 12-50 people. These areas can be used as smaller breakout rooms if you need to meet with the larger group as a whole and then have smaller meetings.

We have a formal Executive Board Room that seats 12 people. Our Hickory room seats the same amount, but is for less formal meetings and could be used for brainstorming sessions with its large round table. The Sycamore room is a great area that is closer to guest rooms in the hotel. The Maple and Pecan rooms make great training areas that would be ideal for any lecture or open discussion. Of course, our large convention area is customizable as we can take the entire convention hall and break it into smaller rooms that will fit your needs better.

Whether your meeting is large or small, we have a room for you. Call the sales office (1-800-872-3176 Ext. 285) today to get a quote!

Now Smoke-Free!!!

June 21st, 2012 by

Our policy for not smoking in the pool atrium and common areas of the hotel have been enforced for a while now. Many folks appreciate that as we have heard in our surveys and feedback forms. Indiana has passed a state law that requires smoking to be banned in any public place or place of employment. We did have a few smoking rooms, but come July 1, 2012 we will no longer have any smoking rooms available. Because our rooms are cleaned by our housekeeping staff daily, we cannot allow smoking in any room. We will continue to allow smokers to light up outside in the parking lot, but the law states that a smoker must be 8 feet away from the entrance while smoking.

Wedding Warriors

Are you planning a wedding?

There are many aspects to the big day that you do not want to forget. Everything from the venue to the florist to the wedding singer, our wedding planners on staff are here to help you make your special day the best it can be.

Are you lost when it comes to DJ service? Catering? Cleaning up after the party? It can all be so overwhelming.

I sat down with Jackie, our Convention Center Sales Manager and discussed with her some of the offerings we have available to couples planning to tie the knot.

When asked what amenities we offer our couples when they have their reception here, she answered, “We offer a Bridal Suite for the couple as well as full service staffing, linen, china, glass, silver flatware and table skirting. We also offer catering and bar as well as clean-up and set-up. We’ll even cut and serve the cake for you!”

I assumed all of this would be tiered pricing and add up to be a lot of money.

Jackie corrected me, “It’s all inclusive and at truly competitive rates. We do not have any hidden fees and we like to add our own special touch through our complimentary services.”

To book your wedding reception at the Jasper Inn and Convention Center, call Holli or Jackie today! 1-800-872-3176

Tips for Managing a Baby’s Sleeping Pattern While Traveling

May 3rd, 2012 by

I found this great article and I hope you enjoy it! – Andy

With vacation season almost upon us, some moms and dads are probably already making plans for a road trip with Baby this spring and/or summer.

Making sure you have everything your little one needs while away from home (from a favorite blanket to diapers) is certainly important. But even more important – and surprisingly overlooked sometimes – is regulating a baby or toddler’s sleeping patterns while traveling.
